Phineas Kimathi, CEO of the World Rally Championship (WRC) Project, has been crowned the 2019 Kenya Motorsport Federation (KMSF) Personality of the Year. He received the award on Saturday, January 11th, 2020, for his tireless efforts in returning the WRC Safari Rally to Kenya after a 17-year absence.
Kimathi's achievement was celebrated at an awards ceremony, where several other motorsport champions were also recognized. Baldev Chager was crowned the 2019 Kenya National Rally Champion, while Ravi Soni won the 2019 KNRC Navigators award.
Isa Amwari took home the division two crown, and Jasmeet Chana won the 2019 Group N award. Sahib Omar was crowned the 2019 KCB Autocross champion, and Kunal Patel won the 2WD Turbo category.
