On January 13, 2020, Al Shabaab terrorists launched a deadly attack on Garissa County in Kenya, killing three non-local teachers and destroying a communication mast.
The attack occurred at the Kamuthe resource centre in Fafi Constituency, where the terrorists targeted a police camp and a Safaricom mast.
According to reports, the militants set the police camp on fire and attempted to bring down the communication mast, located about 300 meters away.
Security has been beefed up in the region, with police officers from Bura East Police Station headed to the area, amid fears that the terrorists may have planted land mines along the way.
This is the fourth terror attack executed by the militia group in less than two weeks, following attacks on the Camp Simba military base in Manda Bay and the Saretho area near Daadab Refugee camp.
