December is a month of heightened security concerns in Kenya, with a string of robberies, accidents, and chilling murders often reported.
According to eyewitnesses, a speeding car was flagged down by police along the Kenya-Uganda border in December, and the occupants fled after being ordered to stop.
Police searched the vehicle and found machetes, cutters, ropes, and other crude weapons, suggesting the occupants were on a mission to commit a robbery.
“The occupants were able to escape into a nearby maize field. The police were forced to tow the car to the police station,” an eyewitness recounted.
Security agents suspect the occupants intended to use the weapons to break into a building or business, highlighting the need for vigilance during the holiday season.
As KDRTV reported, many people turn to witchdoctors to remain safe during this time, citing the temptation-filled nature of the month.
One individual, quoted by Dundapost, credited a witchdoctor with protecting them, saying, “I must visit or just call my witchdoctor who usually protects me. I used to fear these people but my first encounter with him was very interesting. They are not what people think they are. Nothing strange happens when they are protecting you.”
