Published on January 12, 2020, the British government's extradition request for Anne Sacoolas, the American diplomat's wife accused of causing the fatal car accident that killed Harry Dunn, has been rejected by the U.S. administration.

Despite the unwelcome public comments from the U.S. administration, Harry's parents, Charlotte Charles and Tim Dunn, remain confident in the knowledge that the rule of law will be upheld. In an email, Radd Seiger, their spokesman, stated, 'Despite the unwelcome public comments currently emanating from the U.S. administration that Anne Sacoolas will never be returned, Harry's parents, as victims, will simply look forward to the legal process unfolding, as it must now do confident in the knowledge that the rule of law will be upheld.'

Mr. Seiger added that 'no one, whether diplomat or otherwise, is above the law.' The family has been involved in the Justice for Harry campaign, which aims to bring Anne Sacoolas to justice for her alleged role in the fatal car accident.

It's worth noting that the U.S. administration has previously shown skepticism towards the extradition request. In October 2019, President Trump stunned Harry's parents by inviting them to the Oval Office for a meeting, only to suggest that the crash was a 'terrible accident' and that it would be difficult for Americans driving on the opposite side of the road in Britain.

Mr. Trump's comments were met with skepticism by the family, who have been pushing for justice for Harry's death. The family has been 'used to treating anything that the Trump administration says publicly with a pinch of salt,' according to Mr. Seiger.
