On a thrilling Sunday afternoon at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa, Tusker emerged victorious over Bandari in a closely contested Kenya Premier League match, ultimately winning 2-1.
Bandari started the match strongly, taking the lead in the first half through a penalty by Wycliffe Ochomo. However, Tusker managed to level the score in the second half via a powerful long shot by Hashim Sempala.
As the match drew to a close, Tusker's Brian Marita scored the match-winning goal in injury time, securing a crucial victory for the visitors.
Bandari's team manager, Wilson Oburu, expressed his dissatisfaction with the officiating, claiming that the referee was biased and called for a change in the system of appointing referees. In contrast, Tusker's coach, Robert Matano, praised the referee's performance, stating that they had been fair and even gave Bandari a penalty.
Matano also attributed Tusker's victory to the introduction of three speedy players, who significantly impacted the game and ultimately led to their win.
Despite Bandari's strong start, Tusker's determination and skill ultimately paid off, securing a hard-fought victory in Mombasa.
