On Sunday, DCI detectives based in Kamukunji area in Nairobi conducted a raid in an electronic shop along Jogoo road, recovering over 500 assorted mobile phones.

According to the DCI, the officers were acting on a tip-off from members of the public about a notorious syndicate dealing in stolen mobile phones.

Three suspects who could not provide a proper account of the phones in their possession were arrested and will be arraigned on Monday to face charges of being in possession of suspected stolen property.
