On Saturday, detectives in Nakuru made a significant breakthrough in a three-year-old murder case, arresting a fugitive suspect who had been evading capture.

David Kibe, 33, was apprehended at his hideout in Makutano, Timboroa, Nakuru, following a raid by Nakuru DCI officers.

The suspect had been on the run since 2016, when the body of Joan Wairimu was found in Timboroa Forest.

According to DCI boss George Kinoti, Kibe will be taken to court on Monday to face charges in connection with the murder.

A second suspect, Peter Kibe, the main suspect's brother, has already been charged in court and the case is ongoing at the Nakuru Law Courts.

Forensic analysis has placed both suspects at the scene of the murder, with the DCI stating that the suspect is due to be arraigned in court on Monday.
