Published on January 12, 2020, a study highlights the importance of effective communication in our daily lives. Conversations help us form and maintain relationships with others, but poor communication can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts.

One of the most common signs of poor communication skills is being slow to listen and quick to speak. As James 1:19 (NIV) advises, 'Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.' When we rush to respond, we may miss important details and end up saying something we regret.

Another sign of poor communication skills is interrupting others. This can be frustrating for the person being interrupted and may give the impression that we're not interested in what they have to say. To avoid this, it's essential to allow others to finish speaking before responding.

The third sign of poor communication skills is a lack of communication. This can manifest in different ways, such as avoiding difficult conversations or expressing anger in a passive-aggressive manner. To maintain healthy relationships, it's crucial to communicate openly and honestly with others.

By being aware of these signs of poor communication skills, we can take steps to improve our communication and build stronger relationships with others.
