January 11, 2020, marked a significant day for Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 users in Kenya as they began receiving the Android 10 upgrade.
The update, which is based on EMUI 10, clocks in at just over 3 gigabytes and brings a host of new features, including a system-wide dark mode, a new color scheme, and an updated Digital Wellbeing experience.
EMUI 10 also introduces faster performance thanks to the boost that the new file system gets.
However, the update is bundled with an already dated security patch from November 2019.
Users in Kenya who haven't yet received the update can launch the HiCare application on their phone, set their region correctly to Kenya, and then refresh the update checker in the settings app.
With this upgrade, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 joins the ranks of other Huawei devices that have received the Android 10 upgrade.
