On Saturday, Serena Williams showcased her tennis prowess at the WTA Auckland Classic, defeating Amanda Anisimova in a semi-final match that lasted just 43 minutes.

Williams, a 38-year-old tennis icon, demonstrated her dominance over the 18-year-old Anisimova, winning 6-1, 6-1.

Meanwhile, Jessica Pegula, the unseeded and 82nd-ranked player, stunned Caroline Wozniacki in a three-set semi-final, winning 3-6, 6-4, 6-0.

Williams' victory highlighted the significant gap between her and the next generation of players, led by Anisimova.

As the mother of a two-year-old daughter, Williams has been working hard to balance her tennis career with motherhood, with the goal of winning a 24th Grand Slam at the Australian Open later this month.

"I was definitely in the zone today. I knew I was playing a really great player and an even better person and I knew I had to come out serious," Williams said.

"It feels really good. I've been working hard for a couple of years, my daughter's only two, I tend to be really hard on myself but considering everything, I'm doing pretty good," she added.
