On January 10, 2020, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) made a significant breakthrough in their pursuit of robbers in Ng'arua, Laikipia County. The breakthrough came after the arrest of three robbery with violence suspects.

According to the DCI, the three suspects, identified as Samuel Kanyoro, Anthony Ngunjiri, and Samuel Rokiring, were armed with two AK47 rifles when they attacked a businesswoman and her sister. The suspects stole Sh800,000 and five smartphones from the victims.

The suspects were found in possession of Sh147,000 and the five mobile phones. The DCI revealed that one of the recovered phones was used for Equitel Agency Banking and had a 'float' of more than Sh2 million in the owner's account.

The DCI stated that sleuths were still in pursuit of more perpetrators who are believed to have disappeared with the rest of the money. The three suspects will be arraigned in court on January 13, 2020.
