Published on January 11, 2020, Bishop Maurice Crowley of the Kitale Catholic Diocese has expressed concern over stalled projects in Trans Nzoia County, specifically the county referral hospital and the local bus park.

According to Bishop Crowley, residents are incurring huge costs in seeking specialized treatment in Eldoret and Nairobi due to the incomplete facilities.

However, Governor Patrick Khaemba has denied the existence of stalled projects, attributing the delays to bad politics and delayed disbursement of funds from the Treasury.

"There are no stalled projects. Works are ongoing on the county referral hospital and the bus terminal and they will be completed before I leave office," Governor Khaemba said.

The county has spent Sh1.6 billion on the referral hospital and requires additional funds to complete and equip the facility. The bus park has consumed Sh600 million and is yet to be completed.
