January 11, 2020 - Gor Mahia, the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions, are eyeing Ugandan striker Juma Balinya and Ghanaian midfielder Jackson Owusu as potential signings in the ongoing mid-season transfer window.
According to club CEO Lordvick Aduda, the team is awaiting clearance from coach Steven Polack on who to sign. The two players are currently in the country and are undergoing trials.
Polack, who has worked with Owusu in the past, is impressed with the midfielder's abilities and believes he can bring the quality needed to the team. However, he wants to analyze Owusu further before making a decision.
Meanwhile, the team's preparations for their upcoming match against Kakamega Homeboyz have been hampered by a go-slow protest by players over unpaid salaries and allowances.
Polack remains optimistic about the team's chances, citing their ability to grind out results despite the challenges they face.
Other teams in the league are also strengthening their squads, with Tusker signing striker Christopher Ochieng from Mathare United, and Bandari bringing in striker John Mwita from Sony Sugar.
