January 11, 2020, marks a sad day for the media fraternity as Anjlee Gadhvi, a former KTN news anchor, succumbed to liver cancer at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

Diagnosed with cancer in 2013, Anjlee had been a beacon of hope for many, sharing her treatment options on social media and even raising over Sh6 million in a public fund-raising drive four years ago.

Although she had announced going into remission, she later traveled to India for a cyberknife procedure in 2018, which involves radiation of cancer cells on the full body.

‘The body and disease has responded to this form of treatment and I had to finish what was left. Praying done and over!’ she reported on her social media, reflecting on her journey.

Journalists, friends, and family have taken to social media to express their condolences, praising Anjlee's brave fight and her jovial spirit that she carried to the end.
