Published on January 10, 2020
Hillary Itela, a Kenya Rugby Union Board Member and TESPOK Director, has been accused of embezzling funds raised for the education of his late friend's children.
According to a WhatsApp group set up by fellow alumni from Lenana School, a total of Ksh. 494,000 was raised for the education of the children after the demise of one of Hillary's friends.
However, it is alleged that Hillary has been playing cat and mouse games with the group, refusing to provide his phone number to facilitate the transfer of the funds.
Joanne, an ex-partner of the deceased and the mother of his two children, has come forward to share her story, calling for Hillary to be shamed and held accountable for his actions.
She shared screenshots of the WhatsApp group, which show the agreement to raise funds for the children's education and Hillary's refusal to provide his phone number.
