K24 news anchor Anjlee Ghadvi, a cancer warrior, has left us after a long and courageous battle with the disease.

She was undergoing treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi when she passed away on Friday, 10th January 2020.

Despite her illness, Anjlee remained active on social media, keeping her fans and friends updated on her progress.

Her journey with cancer began in 2013 when she was diagnosed with liver cancer. She pursued several treatment options, but unfortunately, they were too expensive for her and her family.

Two years later, in 2015, Anjlee went public with her ordeal, appealing to well-wishers to help her raise funds for her treatment. Her appeal was successful, and she was able to raise over Ksh.6 million within hours.

She had previously undergone treatment in India, where she received CyberKnife treatment in February 2019. In an update on her Twitter account, she shared: "I had an intense CyberKnife treatment early February this year. The area treated was large, hence the recovery period took time. The body and disease have responded to this form of treatment and I had to finish what was left. Praying done and over!"

Her colleagues at K24, including Group Head of TV Digital at Mediamax Peter Opondo, have been mourning her untimely demise. Opondo said: "Oh, my friend Anjlee Gadhvi. You fought that cancer beast with all your might. You did it for your kids, husband. Never lost hope. You always smiled through the pain & insisted on coming to work even at your weakest points. We believed you were winning…until now! RIP my friend."
