Manchester United captain Ashley Young is set to end his nine-year stay at the club after being blocked from joining Inter Milan during the current transfer window.
According to reports, Young had already agreed to join the Serie A club as a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season.
However, the 34-year-old former England international hopes to link up with Antonio Conte's side before the end of January, but Inter Milan are prepared to pay a fee to bring him to the San Siro as soon as possible.
Despite this, The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United are currently unwilling to let Young leave this month due to the number of defensive injuries they have.
Young is understood to have turned down the chance to remain at Old Trafford for a further 12 months when he was offered a contract extension on Thursday.
