Published on January 10, 2020, Cate Waruguru, a staunch Tanga Tanga supporter, has made a shocking claim that the arrest of Moses Kuria was orchestrated by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The arrest of the Gatundu South MP occurred on Friday morning, with Kuria being taken to Kilimani police station for allegedly assaulting a woman at the Royal Media Services premises.

The woman, identified as Joyce Wanja, claimed she was assaulted on December 8, 2019, during a show at RMS premises where she and Kuria were invited to discuss the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

However, Wanja's account of the incident differs from Kuria's, with the MP's supporters, including Waruguru, accusing Raila Odinga of being behind the move to embarrass Kuria due to his support for William Ruto and stance on BBI.

Waruguru stated, 'I have a strong feeling that this is Raila's dictatorship. This is how he wants to run Kenya by oppressing those opposed to the BBI but he will be embarrassed.'

Wanja, however, claimed that Kuria attacked her when she confronted him over his remarks during a fundraiser for orphans in Kiambu, accusing him of abusing women by commenting about their underwear.
