Just a few days later, on January 9, 2020, the team secured their spot in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by defeating Nigeria in three sets, 25-15, 25-21, and 25-12.
This marks Kenya's first Olympic qualification since 2004, ending an 16-year drought.
The team's victory over Nigeria was a repeat of their 2017 Africa Championship performance, where they defeated the West Africans 3-0.
