January 9, 2020 - Naiboi's call for female artiste collaborations has sparked a heated exchange with Avril, who expressed her disappointment at being excluded from his collaborations.
Naiboi took to social media to announce that he is seeking to collaborate with more female artistes, but with a restriction - no mention of Avril.
He posted, 'You guys have been telling me I am collaborating a lot with men and also I want y'all to tell me which female artiste do you want me to collaborate with that you feel we have similar vibes.'
However, his search came with a condition, 'No Avril on the comments section 2020 we are keeping it real this not the year for makasiriko.'
Avril was tagged in the post and responded, 'Duuude kwani nilibreak heart yako aje?? Tweny tweny haitaki makasiriko za 2018, holding on for two years??!!! Gaaaaai. I'd hate to be your chic.. forgive AND forget mschew???????'
Naiboi quickly responded, '@theavieway that's why u have ur own IG account, enda uandike hizi vitu huko…ps thats why ua not my Girlfriend.'
The exchange is a continuation of a 2018 incident where Naiboi asked Avril to feature in his hit song, '2in1', but she declined.
