On January 9, 2020, Gor Mahia head coach Steven Polack was awarded the November 2019 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Coach of the Month at a ceremony held at Camp Toyoyo Grounds.

Polack, who also received the October award, achieved a double by leading the team to three wins in November, out of five league matches played.

The team's impressive performance in November included a 4-1 win over arch-rivals AFC Leopards, a 3-0 win over Kakamega Homeboyz, and a 2-0 win over Bandari in Mombasa.

Polack dedicated the award to the entire team, saying, "I'm delighted to get this accolade but I dedicate it fellow technical team at Gor Mahia and the players who worked very hard on the pitch to make it work."

He added, "It means we can achieve much more with better conditions. You all know our situation but we try to make the best out of it. We have started the year well and hopefully you will be back here end of January."

Polack received Sh75,000 and a personalized trophy courtesy of sponsor Fidelity Insurance, beating Sofapaka's John Baraza and Ulinzi Stars' Benjamin Nyangweso to the award.
