On Thursday, a man from Mbondoni village in Isinga location, Kangundo Sub County, was charged with defiling and strangling a dog to death. The incident has sparked outrage in the community.

According to area chief Bethwel King'ele, the man was living alone in an abandoned homestead and had allegedly held the domestic pet captive for several days. He allegedly engaged in unnatural acts with the dog, which he later strangled to death using a rope.

Chief King'ele revealed that the man had confessed to the crime, stating that he had 'defiled' the dog for several days. The chief also mentioned that dozens of used condoms were recovered from the scene, further highlighting the shocking nature of the incident.

The suspect was arrested by police officers after the public raised an alarm. He was granted Sh100,000 cash bail and is expected to be processed for criminal charges at Kangundo police station.

Chief King'ele expressed his concern over the incident, stating that it is a 'shameful and ungodly act' that cannot be tolerated in society. He also urged the community to help government agencies in weeding out the menace of bestiality.

It is worth noting that this is not the first incident of bestiality in the area. Last year, another man in the same village was arrested for engaging in bestiality with a goat.
