January 9, 2020, marked a significant development in Twitter's efforts to improve user experience. The social media giant has been testing a prototype version of its app, Twttr, which introduces threaded replies.

This innovative feature allows users to scroll down from the initial tweet and see the replies, as well as the replies to the replies. The layout is reminiscent of the Reddit-style indent system, making it easier to follow individual reply chains.

Twitter's beta testing app, branded 'twttr,' is designed to test possible new features for the main app without exposing them to its many users in the testing stage. However, there is a likelihood that Twitter will roll out the main application to help users locate conversations easily.

According to Jane Manchun Wong, a Twitter user, the web app is testing a Reddit-like conversation tree. This feature will let users focus on a new tweet by tapping on it, with grey lines and indents added to conversations to delineate how threads have progressed and show digressions and off-shoots.

Tweets from the original author in the conversation are marked with a microphone icon for clarity and authority. The feature has been met with enthusiasm from Twitter users, with many eager to see it rolled out.
