On a fateful Wednesday afternoon in January 2020, the quiet Maraigushu village in Kenya was shaken by the tragic discovery of a 13-year-old boy's lifeless body hanging from a tree.
The boy, identified as Kimani, was a student at Koinange Primary School and had been struggling with his parents over his academic performance.
According to sources, Kimani had fallen out with his parents and had refused to report to class for the first term, leading to a heated argument.
His body was found hanging from a tree within the family's compound, leaving his siblings in the house in shock.
Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru confirmed the incident, stating that the body had been collected and taken to the area mortuary.
Waweru added that an inquest file had been opened to investigate the circumstances surrounding Kimani's death.
As the community grapples with the loss of a young life, questions remain about the events leading up to Kimani's tragic decision.
