On October 28 last year, the government signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement with UASU lecturers, but it has yet to be honoured.

As a result, UASU Secretary General Constantine Wasonga has announced a seven-day strike notice, which will commence on Monday, January 20th.

According to the agreement, lecturers were supposed to be paid by November last year, but the government has failed to meet this obligation.

Classes in public universities will be suspended during this period.
