January 8, 2020, marked a peculiar day for Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko as he took to Twitter to express his sympathies towards the woes of exiled Kenyan-Canadian lawyer Miguna Miguna.
As Miguna Miguna attempts to return to his motherland, Sonko wished that his Sonko Rescue Team could rescue him, sparking a mixed reaction from Kenyans on Twitter.
However, some Twitter users questioned the sincerity of Sonko's wish, pointing out that his rescue team had failed to rescue him in the first place.
"If Sonko's rescue team has failed to rescue Nairobians, how can it rescue Miguna far away?" asked Amakanji Thomas.
