On January 9, 2020, Kirinyaga Jubilee Party Chairman Mureithi Kangara attended a meeting at Makutano in Mwea East Sub County, where he was on official duty.

During the meeting, Kangara expressed concern over the increasing cases of rail vandalism in the area and called on the government to intervene.

He alleged that scrap metal brokers were responsible for the destruction of the rail infrastructure, which was then sold to dealers in Nairobi and other major towns.

However, Kangara's fashion sense stole the show, with photos of him attending the meeting going viral.
