On Wednesday, a suspect charged with preparation to commit a felony caused chaos in a Milimani court after resisting incarceration.
According to reports, Daniel Njonjo Mwangi was arrested by police officers along Kimathi street on Tuesday after allegedly attempting to flee when he spotted them.
During the arrest, Mwangi allegedly threw himself onto a pavement and declined to be handcuffed, but was eventually overpowered by the officers who later searched him and found a ruku and a knife.
He was then escorted to Central police station, where he was later brought before senior resident magistrate Caroline Nzimbe.
Mwangi denied the charges, claiming he was not armed in readiness to commit a robbery.
However, the magistrate freed him on a cash bail of Sh30, 000, but Mwangi claimed he had no money and refused to be escorted back to the court cells from the courtroom.
He engaged court orderlies in a push and pull before being forcefully removed from the dock.
