On January 8, 2020, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani made a televised address, hours after the country fired missiles at Iraqi bases housing US troops.
"We don't retreat in the face of America," Rouhani said, emphasizing Iran's stance in response to a US strike that killed one of its generals.
He warned the US that if it had committed a crime, it should expect a decisive response, adding that the US should be wise enough not to take any further action at that juncture.
