On January 7, 2020, Kisii County Deputy Speaker Davins Onuso, who is also the Masige East MCA, was arrested by officers from Nyangusu on allegations of incitement and leading illegal demonstrations in his ward.

According to Nyamache Sub-County Police Commander Stephen Obara, Onuso had been released on cash bail on Tuesday evening after threatening to storm and attack Kiobegi DEB Secondary School Principal Cyrus Ochoke over the school's 2019 KCSE performance.

Onuso had attended a funeral where he called on locals to turn up in large numbers and storm the school. He later mobilized several Boda Boda riders and locals and stormed the school before his arrest.

"He has a right to be released on cash bail but he has proved to be a risk. Let's prevent further damage. He will appear in court tomorrow," says Obara.
