Applications are now open for the 2020 ASME Innovation Showcase (ISHOW), a global competition for hardware-led ventures that aims to support top social innovators from around the world.
According to ISHOW, applicants should have an existing prototype and be interested in receiving financing, technical support, and access to industry networks to help take their product to market.
ISHOW participants will receive feedback on their idea, interact with multidisciplinary experts familiar with frontier markets, and gain access to industry best practices.
Finalists will receive product exposure, advice, technical insights, and compete for $500,000 in seed grants, in-kind support, design services, travel stipends, and marketing & business development assets.
9 innovators will be invited to New York City for the annual ISHOW Bootcamp to receive an extensive design and engineering review by a panel of experts and a chance to earn a second round of seed grants and consultations.
ISHOW defines hardware-led social innovation as taking a physical product to market to solve a social or environmental problem by utilizing a sustainable business model.
Since 2015, ISHOW finalists and winners have focused on many problems defined by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and provided technology solutions to address various challenges.
