Tragedy struck the family of Citizen TV anchor Willis Raburu in early January when he lost his daughter at birth. The loss was so devastating that he had to take a leave of absence from work to mourn the loss of his child.

Just a week after the loss, his wife Marya Prude took to Instagram on January 8 to express her grief and anger towards God. In an emotional post, she revealed that the demise of their daughter had made her question the existence of God.

Prude acknowledged the messages of goodwill she received from friends and family, but her post was laced with a sense of betrayal towards God. She stated, 'Everyone is so quick to tell me about God. What they don’t know is that every way I knew Him, He was tested and He didn’t prove Himself,'

She continued, 'So as they say you should know God for yourself, I now can say, I don’t know Him. And I don’t think I want to know him coz He left me when I needed him the most.'

Willis Raburu, on the other hand, has been grateful for the support he received from his colleagues during this difficult time. In a statement, he thanked his colleagues for standing by his family and asked his fans to be calm and allow him time to grieve.

The Atheists in Kenya Society has welcomed Prude to their community, urging Willis Raburu to follow his wife's lead and denounce God.

The couple had been expecting their firstborn child after tying the knot in 2017.
