Published on January 8, 2020, a controversy has erupted in the Kenyan music scene with Tanzanian musician Harmonize at the center of it all.
For the second time in two years, Harmonize has been accused of stealing a song by a Kenyan musician. Last year, he was involved in a dispute with producer Magix Enga, and this year, he is being accused by none other than Stivo Simple Boy.
Stivo Simple Boy's phrase 'Inauma but itabidi uzoe' (It hurts but you just have to get used to it) became a popular idiom in Kenya after he used it in an interview to describe how he deals with hate and vitriol directed at him due to his appearance.
Harmonize used the phrase and created a song around it, titled 'Inauma', which has become an instant hit. Stivo Simple Boy has spoken out about the issue, stating that Harmonize stole the song phrase without his permission.
