On January 8, 2020, a devastating plane crash occurred just outside Iran's capital Tehran, leaving a trail of destruction and loss of life.

A Boeing 737 passenger plane, operated by Ukraine International Airlines, had taken off from Tehran's international airport bound for Kiev when it crashed shortly after take-off, killing all on board.

According to the head of Iran's Red Crescent, speaking to semi-official news agency ISNA, it was impossible for any passengers on flight PS-752 to have survived the crash.

The plane had 170 passengers and crew on board when it crashed, and the loss of life was a tragic reminder of the dangers of air travel.
