Microsoft has announced the appointment of Kendi Ntwiga-Nderitu as its new Kenya country manager, effective immediately. She takes over from Sebuh Haileleul, who previously held the position.
Ms Ntwiga-Nderitu brings extensive experience to the role, having previously worked as the general manager of Check Point software's East, West, and Central Africa cluster. In this position, she led and implemented business strategies across sub-Saharan Africa.
According to a statement from Microsoft's regional office, Ms Ntwiga-Nderitu's appointment is a significant step towards the company's goal of increasing its share of voice in the Kenyan market. Her experience will contribute to Microsoft's mission of helping the continent on its digital transformation journey, while also driving greater diversity and inclusion in STEM fields.
Ms Ntwiga-Nderitu has a proven track record of helping organisations develop strategic digital roadmaps, enabling them to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. She was previously recognised as an emerging leader in innovation and entrepreneurship by the US government-founded She-Goes-Tech initiative, which mentors young girls and women in STEM careers.
As the new Kenya country manager, Ms Ntwiga-Nderitu will be responsible for leading Microsoft's expansion in the country and the regional market, and developing and maintaining relationships across sales and marketing departments. The company's products and services include cloud computing, computer software, and cyber security.
