On January 7, 2020, Kenya's Malkia Strikers delivered a thrilling performance at the Palais polyvalent des sports (Paposy) Arena, defeating Cameroon 3-2 (25-16, 23-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-11) in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifiers.
With every player giving their all, Kenya emerged victorious in a closely contested five-set match, with the Paposy Arena packed to capacity.
The win marked a significant milestone for Kenya, taking their tally to eight points. A victory against lowly Nigeria on Thursday would secure their return to the Olympics after 16 years, regardless of the result between Egypt and Cameroon on Wednesday.
Cameroon, with seven points, can only qualify if Kenya fail to pick maximum points against Nigeria.
