On January 5, a disturbing incident occurred at the Maasai Market in Nairobi, where a female trader was subjected to verbal abuse by a casual labourer.
David Kigoma Onguyi, the accused, allegedly told the trader that if she wore underwear, it was definitely torn, and also shouted and threatened to beat her up.
The incident was sparked by an earlier incident on December 19, when Onguyi took a customer to the woman's stand and promised to pay for items worth Sh500 later that day, but failed to keep his promise.
He was charged with creating disturbance and denied the offence, and was freed on a Sh20,000 bond or Sh10,000 cash bail.
The case will come up in court on January 21 for a mention.
