Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been hospitalized for surgery on his injured ankle, a problem that has plagued him throughout the season.

According to reports, Pogba has managed just eight appearances in all competitions this season, with his most recent injury occurring after a 1-1 draw with Arsenal in September.

On Tuesday, Pogba shared a video on his Instagram account of himself in a hospital room ahead of the procedure, captioning it 'Hello. Before op.'

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had previously expressed some concern over Pogba's decision to undergo surgery, suggesting that the player's agent, Mino Raiola, may have had some influence over the decision.

However, Solskjaer later clarified that there was nothing untoward about Pogba's actions, stating that the player had consulted with his own medical team and had received a second opinion before deciding to undergo surgery.

As a result, Pogba is expected to be out for up to four weeks as he recuperates from the surgery.
