On December 30, 2019, Collins Marube, 32, was brutally murdered at his home in Kerina, Kitutu Central in Kisii. His father, Michael Omari, received a call from friends informing him that his son had been picked by unknown people driving a Probox and at least three motorbikes.

Less than an hour later, Omari received another call from his neighbor, informing him that he had found his son's body lying near his compound. The family arrived at the scene, and Marube was in deep pain, pleading for help. He was later pronounced dead at around 6am on December 31, 2019, at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH).

According to Omari, his son was a disciplined and honest child who had been working as a plant operator in Nairobi and had planned to relocate to Kisii at the beginning of the year. Marube mumbled the names of those who attacked him moments before he died. His father's wish is for the suspects to be arrested for his murder.

The matter was reported at Nyakoe Police Post through OB number 10/31/12/2019. DCI Kitutu Central requested a postmortem examination on January 2, 2020, which revealed that the deceased died due to complications of the spinal injury caused by blunt force trauma.
