On January 7, 2020, a tragic incident unfolded in Dadaab, Kenya, as suspected Al Shabaab terrorists launched a botched attack on a police post.
Four school-going children lost their lives when stray bullets hit them as security forces cornered the terrorists, who were attempting to destroy a communication mast.
Deputy County Commissioner Kibet Bowen explained that the security team had to intervene, leading to a gun battle that resulted in the deaths of the four children.
During the 1 am incident, the security team recovered two AK 47 rifles and two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
