Kenya: Dadaab Police Post Attack Leaves Four Civilians, Two Suspected Militants Dead

On January 7, 2020, a violent attack shook the town of Dadaab in Garissa County, Kenya, leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake.

At approximately 2:30 am, a group of attackers attempted to invade a police post in the area, sparking a fierce confrontation that would ultimately claim the lives of four civilians and two suspected Al Shabaab militants.

According to North Eastern Regional Police Commander Paul Soi, the attackers were targeting a communications mast in the Saretho area, but their plans were foiled by the swift response of the police.

During the attack, two AK47 firearms and two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were recovered by the authorities.

As the investigation into the attack continues, the people of Dadaab remain on high alert, bracing themselves for any further developments.
