On a day when Patty Mills was keeping a close eye on the devastating bushfires in his native Australia, he helped the San Antonio Spurs pull off a stunning 126-104 upset of the NBA-leading Milwaukee Bucks on Monday.

DeMar DeRozan scored 25 points, while Mills made six three-pointers as the Spurs drained a season-high 19 from beyond the arc.

The Spurs' victory marked their first win over the Bucks this season and handed Milwaukee their first defeat since an upset loss to Philadelphia on Christmas Day.

Reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists, but it was not enough to prevent the upset.

Elsewhere in the NBA, Dallas' Luka Doncic delivered his league-leading 11th triple-double of the season with 38 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists to lead the Mavericks to a 118-110 victory over the Chicago Bulls.

Denver center Nikola Jokic scored 47 points to lead the Nuggets to a 123-115 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, while the injury-depleted Washington Wizards surprised the Boston Celtics with a 99-94 victory.

However, controversy surrounded the New Orleans Pelicans' 128-126 loss to the Utah Jazz, with the Pelicans feeling that forward Brandon Ingram was fouled on a potential game-tying final shot.
