January 7, 2020, marked a significant setback for lawyer Miguna Miguna's bid to return to Kenya, as German authorities prevented him from boarding a Kenyan-bound flight at the Frankfurt Airport.

According to Miguna, the Kenyan government had placed a red alert on his head, effectively blocking him from flying to Kenya or any other African country.

Speaking to a local radio station, Miguna stated that the Kenyan government had demanded that Lufthansa refund his fare and not allow him to fly into any other African country.

However, blogger Robert Alai has accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of being behind the decision to block Miguna's return to Kenya.

Alai claimed that Raila had intimated to his close associates that Miguna would only return to Kenya when dead, a statement that Raila had allegedly made recently.

Alai's accusations stem from Miguna's social media posts, which he claims touched a raw nerve in Raila.

Miguna was deported in March 2018 after he had controversially sworn in Raila as the People's President at Uhuru Park.
