Published on January 6, 2020, a plea was made to repair the Kisumu-Kericho highway between Muhoroni and Kipsitet, which has become notorious for its potholes.

According to Damson Opiyo Onger, the road's condition is a major concern for road users, with several fatal accidents occurring in the recent past.

Motorists are forced to drive at a snail's pace due to the numerous potholes on the seven-kilometre stretch, which is part of the transnational highway linking Mombasa-Nairobi-Kericho-Kisumu and neighboring countries.

Residents of Miotoni Road in Nairobi's Karen suburb are also frustrated with the lack of streetlights, despite a gang of technicians installing 60 lights along the road a year ago.

However, only 16 of the streetlights are functional, leaving the residents to wonder why the others were installed if they were not going to be maintained.

The use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in football matches has also raised concerns about its credibility, with some doubting its ability to make accurate decisions.

Meanwhile, the removal of a footbridge on Mbagathi Road in Nairobi has left pedestrians exposed to grave risk, with several accidents already occurring at the spot.

Residents are calling for accountability over the removal of the bridge and the lack of a replacement.
