On January 6, 2020, Curtis Jones made headlines with a stunning goal in the FA Cup, securing a 1-0 win for Liverpool over Everton.
Steven Gerrard, the Rangers manager and Liverpool legend, took to Instagram to congratulate Jones on his achievement, posting a picture of the young midfielder celebrating his goal.
Alongside the image, Gerrard wrote: "Love it kid".
Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for his team's performance, describing it as "sensationally good".
"I saw a sensationally good performance of a not very experienced team with a lot of players playing for the first time on this kind of stage, in front of this crowd, against the opponent," Klopp said.
"It was outstanding. I loved it - I loved each second of this game. If you want to be a Liverpool player, you have to respect the principles of this club," he added.
"We cannot always play the best football in the world but we can fight like nobody else. And as long as we use our principles, we will be a difficult opponent to play against," Klopp concluded.
