On January 6, 2020, the High Court in Kenya issued an order requiring the government to allow Miguna Miguna to re-enter the country without obstruction.

According to the court order, Immigration Department Director-General Alexander Muteshi confirmed that the Directorate would facilitate Dr. Miguna's entry into Kenya, as per the court's directive issued on December 14, 2018.

Justice Weldon Korir issued the orders, restraining Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi, Police chief Hillary Mutyambai, and others from interfering with Miguna's return into the country.

The court also ordered the Registrar of the High Court to direct the release of Miguna's passport, which is currently held by Immigration officers.
