On January 6, 2020, Kenyan legislator Oscar Sudi made a passionate plea to Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to arrest individuals selling and using fake lightskins before Valentine's Day.
The call came after Sudi reportedly had a disappointing encounter with a woman from Kisumu who had used a fake lightskin, only to reveal darker skin tones when her elbows and body parts were exposed.
'That is robbery without violence, that is very harsh to men,' Sudi angrily noted, emphasizing the financial burden and emotional distress caused by fake lightskins.
He further stated that the use of fake lightskins leads to chaotic drama in well-established homes, causing emotional anguish for legally married women and their children.
The tough-talking leader urged the government to take precautionary measures against the lightskins, advocating for their immediate arrest across all borders of the nation.
