January 6, 2020, marked a significant milestone for Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz as he celebrated a decade in the music industry. The celebrated musician, known by his stage name Diamond Platnumz, has been a household name in East Africa for years.

Speaking to Bongo 5, Platnumz revealed that he is now ready and has no reservations about being immortalized in stone. He expressed his gratitude to his fans and supporters, saying, "Mimi nalipokea kwa mikoni miwili maana hata wenzetu Ulaya wanajengewa, Rais kunipia simu ni heshima kubwa sana."

Platnumz's 10-year journey in the music industry has been nothing short of remarkable. He has received enormous support from people across the globe, but especially from Tanzanians. He has been praised for his ability to understand and package his content to his audience, which has kept him at the top of the Bongo Flava music industry.

As the CEO of Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB), one of the biggest record labels in East Africa, Platnumz has been instrumental in shaping the music industry in the region. His ability to identify what people want to listen to and at what time and season has been a key factor in his success.

Platnumz's recent phone call from President John Pombe Magufuli, where the President expressed his love for Platnumz's music, has further cemented his status as a musical icon. The President's words, "Mi nakupenda sana na napenda watu wa kigoma pia, napenda miziki yako pia na nawatakia heri ya mwaka mpya na mungu awabariki sana," have been met with widespread acclaim.
