Located on the picturesque South Coast of Kenya, the Diani Regatta Festival is a unique cultural experience that brings together the region's rich traditions and stunning natural beauty.
Organized by the South Coast Community Ecotourism Association (SCCEA), the festival has been running for eight years, attracting visitors from around the world.
The festival takes place on January 12, 2020, at the Alliance Safari Beach Hotel in Diani, and features a series of boat and yacht races, as well as traditional music and dance performances.
One of the highlights of the festival is the traditional sailing competition, where local fishermen compete in their handmade canoes, known as Ngalawas.
Visitors can also enjoy traditional drinks and meals, as well as a fashion show featuring the traditional Lesso or Kanga fabric, which is worn by women along the Kenyan coast.
