January 4, 2020, marked the beginning of a social media storm for Alinur Mohammed, an aspiring politician who has been linked to the unfolding drama involving divorced TV couple Betty Kyalo and Dennis Okari.

According to reports, Mohammed's pictures were circulated on social media, claiming he was the 'Somali guy' dating the TV presenter.

However, Mohammed has come out to distance himself from the saga, terming the information as 'misleading handiwork of individuals with malicious interests.'

He took to Twitter to set the record straight, stating, 'There has been speculations about my personal life in the past few days. Kenyans are linking me to the Somali Guy who was mentioned by NTV news anchor Ken Mijungu in his story that touched on Betty Kyallo and Dennis Okari. All these speculations are misleading.'

He further emphasized that he is a committed family man and asked those spreading the rumors to have respect for his family, Betty Kyallo's family, Dennis Okari, and himself.

His reactions come in the wake of a conversation on the 'Somali guy' that came up in a post by NTV news anchor Ken Mijungu, who accused Kyallo of portraying her ex-husband Okari as an irresponsible father.
